I cannot believe September is in two days. Seriously. But I’m not crying over the impending end of summer. I love fall. Halloween is my second favorite holiday. And fall brings new TV shows! Yay! So I thought I’d highlight what shows I’m looking forward to—old and new—listed in order of premiere date.
Ringer – CW, 9/13, 9 p.m.
The return of Sarah Michelle Gellar to television! I was excited for this show to begin with, but then this week they announced Logan Echolls, um, I mean Jason Dohring as an addition to the cast. So now I’m 100% sold.
The Vampire Diaries – CW, 9/15, 8 p.m.
Oh, how I miss The Vampire Diaries. It’s simply one of the best-written shows on television right now. They are the masters of suspense, twists, and “ZOMG that final scene!” moments.
The Secret Circle – CW, 9/15, 9 p.m.
Kevin Williamson is one of the executive producers so I’m watching it. Just like that. Sold. I’ve loved all his work--The Vampire Diaries, Dawson's Creek, Scream...I’m still sad that Hidden Palms didn’t get a second season! I would also like to read the books before the show starts because I find it interesting to see what showrunners decide to keep and change. It's fascinating!
Castle – ABC, 9/19, 10 p.m.
Top five reasons I’m watching. 1) Nathan Fillion. 2) It’s really funny! It’s a crime show, yeah, but the witty banter is probably the best part. 3) Nathan Fillion. 4) Egads! That cliffhanger! 5) Nathan Fillion.
Modern Family – ABC, 9/21, 9 p.m.
My favorite comedy. It’s hilarious. The characters are endearing. And I kind of like how all the episodes end with an “awww” moment.
Revenge – ABC, 9/21, 10 p.m.
I don’t know too much about this show but saw an ad and I am intrigued!
Fringe – Fox, 9/23, 9 p.m.
NEED THIS SHOW BACK RIGHT NOW. I love Fringe so much I can’t even fully put it into words. So I’ll just leave it at that.
Gossip Girl – CW, 9/26, 8 p.m.
For the manipulations, the betrayals, the verbal sparring, and the smexy.
American Horror Story – FX, 10/5, 10 p.m.
For a show that I haven’t seen one ad for, I am ridiculously excited about American Horror Story. First, Tami Taylor, um, I mean Connie Britton is the star. Love her. Second, there aren’t enough horror shows on TV! And my whole life, I’ve loved ‘dream house turns into house of nightmares’ stories. In fact, that’s part of the plot of my Fall 2012 standalone YA novel coming from Scholastic (awesome title soon!). My all-time favorite movie is Poltergeist. That should tell you something about me. ;) And this article says American Horror Story “just might be the scariest show. Ever. In the history of television.” So, yeah, I’m excited.
What shows are you looking forward to? Anything else you think I should be watching?
